The story of Seats2meet Utrecht
Seats2meet was born out of spontaneity and social interaction. Two entrepreneurs were renting out meeting rooms and had excess space. It seemed a waste, so they put a table in the extra area and invited their network to come work there.
This quickly led to unprecedented activity and a mix of people. Ideas, businesses, and events were quickly launched. Books were written, games developed, apps built, innovations conceived. ‘Hmm,’ thought the entrepreneurs at the time, ‘Maybe we’ve got something here…’.
Seats2meet saw the light in 2007. Since then, a lot has changed, yet in some ways, not much at all. Locations sprang up all over the world, and we were asked everywhere to talk about our social strategy, proving to be accidentally groundbreaking and worthy of books. Over the years, there was a constant flow of people and locations. But Utrecht remained the foundation, and sharing abundance and space remained the essence.
Well, we could tell you more about it, but it’s much more fun if others do that…
You won't earn anything!
Value is often expressed in cold hard cash But what if we viewed it differently? If you consider that every person adds value without needing to 'do' or 'give' anything, it creates an atmosphere where each individual is valued and welcomed. This fosters relaxation and security, and that’s when we are at our best!
Connecting is the new earning
We want to provide space for connection. That’s why we give anyone who wants it a stage: to show themselves and to meet others. Through video items, familiar live events, shared meals, and spontaneous sessions. Or simply by giving away workspaces every day. In this way, people find each other and form new connections. And with that buzz and content, they create value for us. And just like that, the circle is complete!
Meet our team. All these wonderful people breathe Seats through every pore. Each with their own identity, approach, and expertise. They come together from various backgrounds and ambitions. And that’s when things start to buzz, the step counter goes wild, the best ideas emerge, and they fight for quality in every area.
Yes, of course we are sustainable. That goes without saying. But perhaps in a completely different way from what you might think…
